do the meaningful volunteer jobs

This term, I still have many volunteer works to do. Most of reason is that I am a member of the volunteer club. I took part in most of volunteer activities energetic and gain the high opinions from the charitable community.
Every Saturday or Sunday, we went to the Hou Zai Men, the place where is not far away to our school. So we just need to take bus to get that place. At that place has charitable community. It’s a small building and out of the wall of that building, there are a lot of certificates hang on it. Most of time, we taught some children whose are poor because of their family. We taught them English from the book or other subjects from books. They all looked very hard working and pure. Every time, we taught them patiently, they always asked us to teach them more knowledge or told them some interesting story. Also, they took notes and listened very carefully. Most of students were good at studying and really very clever. It is not surprised to us because most of children in china who is poor because of family economy always have more self—efficiently and effort than other children. They always very sensible and already know how to help their parents and care about them. So we really like them and finished our teaching time very productive. After that, sometimes we played some games if we leave some spare time. We played games like hide-and-seek or cards. We saw them always felt full of satisfaction and cheerful. At that time, I think they don’t care about too much things any more. They just a child and need we help and give our love to them. When we decided to leave, they always didn’t want us to leave. Even they have looked us as their sisters and brothers while not just a person teach them. We have built a good relationship with each other. That was so meaningful!
Also, I still did the volunteer job in nursing house in Yuhua road. I helped the old people washing, walking and eating. I told them something interesting because I know that they feel bored in nursing house. Old people always want young people to care about them feeling, not just their health. They always felt lonely because they cannot be able to do too much things any more. They just can watch TV or listen to the video by their own everyday. Their children are busy in their work and do not have spare time to stay with them. They just want someone to chat with them and share their feeling with them. We should understand the feeling of these poor old people. This is a way that we respect to these old people. So we should do something that we can for them. Although we couldn’t spend a lot of time staying with them, we still can give them a little happy time. I think I will try my best to spend sometime to visit them and give them more happy memories.

Fashion show
This morning, April 27, 2009, our school had a fashion show at night. Many students were excited because they couldn’t wait to see the clothes, which they designed.
Mt friends and l bought the tickets and entered into a hall. Everything was prepared very carefully. We have lights, music and a big stage, which is a “T”. The stage décor is a very big black cloth and there were some words and pictures were stick on it. Big words “FASHION SHOW” was also stick in the middle of the stage and these made us really felt the atmosphere was hot.
All the GCA teachers’ models came first and shoe us theirs beautiful clothes, which were made by GCA students. Mrs. hardly wore a green long and holds flowers. She looks beautiful in this restore ancient ways. Mr. Harries wore a Chinese tunic suit with a pair of sunglasses. These made him looks more tall and handsome. I think the catchiest cloth is Mr. Sharpe’s. He wore the cloth that specially makes for spaceman. Ha Ha. Students made this cloth maybe because of he are a science teacher I think. When he appeared on the stage, most of students clapped because of his creative cloth. After that, students started to show their own clothes, they were also very beautiful.
I really love this fashion show, although many students said that the fashion show in this term was not as interesting as last term be cause of no singers and dancers. Well, it doesn’t matter for me, I love these clothes because I love designing!

go to the church

Last year's December 24, my sister and I went to the church to watch the programs in Mochou road. It is a big church with western styles. It is a Christianity church. We chose this date to go because I knew that before the Christmas always have a eulogize performance.
As we arrived in the church, the activity was already started. Many people sat in it and enjoyed the songs carefully. The song was really beautiful and made us felt harmony. Also we saw many students from Mochou road primary school in the stage and brought us their wonderful voice. They all sang very conscientious and deeply in the music. At that time, I felt the atmosphere of the Christmas. How fantastic! After enjoying the songs, we sat in the second flour and continue to listen to a person read the holy bible. Well, I think it was difficult for me to understand that because he was used English to read. So be honest, it was really bored for me at that time.
I watched around the whole church, it was decorated in a warm feeling and really different between the china decorations. Everyone were listened very silent and carefully. The whole atmosphere was peaceful at that time and l really enjoyed it. Even some people brought their Cross pendants, they closed their eyes and prayed very pious. I really touched for their behaviors.
Towards the end of time, I took some photos as my memory. This is my first time went to the church and I hope next year I still will go to the church!

Cook the pancakes

A weekend, in April, GCA teachers need to teach two people from each group cook the bun. Mrs. hardly was appointed to teach us how to make the pancakes, so we are in the same group.
In the beginning, she gave each of us a paper that had told us what materials we need. We need vanillon, eggs and about two bottoms of milk. These are all belonging to the liquid things. And also, we need butter, wheat flour and salt. These are the dry things. Some students were already bought these things before, so we started very easily.
Firstly, we should found two bowls that each bowl put liquid and dry things in it. Dry things were mixed together and the liquid things are the same. Then we could use a scoop to stir. After stirring homogeneous, mixed dry things and liquid things together and continued to stir homogeneous in a big bowl. Soon we found that all the materials became sticky and the color was light yellow. At that time we could put some chocolate as small as beans in it. It could make pancakes taste more sweetly!
In fact, we just need to put some of these things in the induction cooker and make these things become a shape of round and flat after stirring. However, unluckily the induction cooker, which was bought by Mrs. hardly, couldn’t be used because it was broken. So we didn’t finished cook the pancake at that time. It was so pity!
we cooked in a classmate’s home later because we have known that how to cook the pancakes and we finished cook the pancakes quickly and successful! YEAH! YEAH! And we also gave our classmates to taste and they said our pancakes were good! I really proud of our pancakes and enjoy the process of cooking. It was really very funny and meaningful!

Visit a handwriting exhibition

Last Saturday, Annie, cherry and l visited a handwriting exhibition after our school had a Nanjing foreign languages festival in the great hall of the people. We chose this exhibition because it next to the great hall of the people. Opposite this place was No.9 Middle school. Also. A girl called Chen Maoran, which is in the Nanjing foreign language school, wrote the handwriting. We thought because of us in the same middle school, we should learn to her.
One of the Chen Maoran’s Calligraphy, l really like was the hieroglyphics written by her. Hieroglyphics was the earliest produce text in China. This hieroglyphics are all looked like curves and they are so funny to learn how to write.
I very liked all of her handwriting artwork, l think her handwriting skills are really good.
She can write many different fonts and they all very nice. Her handwriting were powerful and neat. Many people praised her skills.
Annie, cherry and l also tried to witted some words. However, we thought we couldn’t control our brush, we didn’t show the nice handwriting. Opposite. We write that terrible. At that time, we really understand how difficult for us to write if we don’t practice that in many times. Real success is not achieved in one day, or just because of perseverance.
This exhibition made me learn more and l think if we try our best and have perseverance, nothing is impossible!

Eat in different cultural restaurant
Today is March 15th .My parents and I went to the ‘Herny’s home’to have a dinner in LongJiang ‘New city Mall’.We chose this restaurant because we really like the environment in Herry’s Home and it is near my home. Also, we have already been here many times. I think if I should eat at a different culture restaurant, choose the Herry’s home is the best.
When we entered the Herny’s home, we was sat on the sofa the main color in this restaurant is red so it can make us felt soft and warm .in the middle of the restaurant. There was a small stage .it can for singers to sing at that place. However, today we couldn’t listen to anyone .we just listen the music from the loudspeaker. That was so pity. I heard some jazz music. Opposite the stage, there was a small bookshelf. They were many fashion magazines and some wines in it. That has the emotional appeal for us. There was also had a TV .we watched “tom and jerry”. It was the farm us Hollywood cartoon from the U.S.A. that cartoon made us laugh us laugh and thought of my childhood.
We ordered a lot of food and my dad thought .we would not finish eating them. that′s true! we ordered ′baked buffalo chicken wings‵.Chocolate mouse cake and groose pate bread before ordering the main food. The main food that my father ordered was the grilled beef tenderloin. My mother ordered the ossobucco and I ordered the henrys super pizza during eating these food .I took some photos for them. They looked so delicious.
After having dinner my mother thought that she didn’t like the food because the food didn’t t match her taste .my father thought just so so. However I thought the food was pretty good. Did they just like the Chinese food? I don’t know and I felt a little strange.
I really adept the western food and I hope eat these food everyday!

Do the Volunteer

In0ctober, our volunteer club had an activity in the square of townspeople on Shanxi road for donating.
Some students who are the member of volunteer club watched the charity show. Many people sang and dance because they wanted to use their action to appealed the people who watched the show and raise money, clothes or books for charity. Other students were the volunteers help them collected the money around the square of townspeople.
I was another group of students. I wore the specially cloth and hat for volunteers. I held the donation box and also appealed the people raise the money. I was very surprised for people generous. Must people who raised money always have child. Even they let their child put the money in the donation box with their own hands. They thought that was very meaningful for their child .it was a good education. We kept saying ‘thank you’ to these kind people.
For my opinion, the love is not represents how much money you donate. Only you care the charity is the most necessary. By joining this meaningful activity, l knew the beauty of love and the importance of donation.
In December, I taught students in primary school. I taught them English patiently and make friends with them. At last, we took the photos and kept as souvenir.
Also in December, l volunteered for the GCA Drama Show The Taming of The shrew for two hours. I helped the Drama show had tickets checked and hand out the publicity. Then l also watched the Drama show. I think help is a beautiful thing and very important. Volunteer is a great job!

Generally, l thinks each volunteer work may help the poor people have the courage for their life. More and more love can build the relationship between the people. We all should have love and join the volunteer activity, try our best to build a love wall!

About club activity

This term, l joined two clubs. They are volunteer club and cooking club.
Volunteerclub is very meaningful and interesting. It had many activities and they are usually on Sunday. The most unforgettable activities for me are volunteered for charity, volunteered for the GCA drama show and did the volunteer job in the nursing home.
Volunteered for charity was in Shanxi road. I helped the charity show donated the money and did the good job on this work. Many people were very generous. I held a donation box and tried my best to appeal the people raise money for charity. After l finished this activity in three hour, l felt very substantial.

For the cooking club, l feel a little disappointed because l don’t know why it has no any activities and nobody notice me. So l doesn’t have anything to write. l just hope next term it will has some interesting activities and l can learn how to cook some delicious food for my family.
In all, this term l think I did well in each of my missions and for next term l will do the better! Join the Club is very interesting!

My personal health

I love sports but Actually l is not a very sporty girl. I love playing badminton and ping-pong and climbing. They are always my favorite activities.
I usually play the badminton with my parents about once a week. Last Sunday I played badminton with them in Olympic sports center. The environment was very good and the price was not expensive. It was a really suitably place to play!
First, l was not very nimble because of the cold weather. I felt the whole body was like a big frozen ice. It was so heavily! Then my mom encouraged me if l practice more, l will get warm soon. So l was accorded to her suggestion. It was very useful!
Next, We started to play the badminton as a match. Mom is very good at playing badminton and she played very powerful! I always lost the points and I felt a little disheartened. However, l also thought if l can play better and try all my best, l can win.
1 hour later, l found l played become better and better and my mom started felt tired.
At last, l use this chance won the game! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
Another sport l usually do is climbing the Zi Jing mountain. Usually about three times a week or four times a week.
On Feb.25th, my family and l went to the Zi Jing Mountain in the morning. That day is New Year’s Day. My family always has a custom is that we must climb the mountain every New Year’s Day and we will get good luck in the whole year. Chinese meaning is登高望远（deng gao wang yuan）.
The morning air was fresh and made us felt very relaxed. I think the best to climb is in the morning. On the road, l walked in medium speed so l will not get tired easily. The weather was also a little cold but it was a sunny day. I chose the path to get to the top of mountain. The path was a bit dangerous but it can get to the top quickly.
Walking the path was not an easy thing. When l walking the path, my aunt almost fell! Luckily, she just got the little injury. So l supported her with hand and we get the top of mountain finally. At that time, l wasn’t felt cold any more. I just felt very excited because the beauty of the mountain attracted l. The sun was so dazzlingly like a big ruby and everything like an artwork! I took many pictures at that place.
Oh! In 2009, it will be fantastic!
Doing sports activities are always good for our health, we must do more sports and the life will become more beautiful for us!

A dinner in TAKOS

In dec.19th, we had a dinner in Takos because we must finish our profiles for planning projects and this dinner can also make us feel more about the western cultures.
When l was entered the doorway, l saw a model of Santa Claus because Christmas day will coming and l felt the whole environment in this restaurant was very warm and special. The major students in our class had dinner at that night together. Also, students in grade 12 had dinner with us.
L chose a chocolate cake and a plate of seafood noodle. They are all my favorite food and the prices are not very expensive. The chocolate cake was very sweet and l thought it very suitable for me. So tasty! L loved it! The noodle was also very delicious. The seafood was fresh and l like the squid best! Lt taste a little sour and sweet!
While we were eating the dinner, we were chatting with each other happily and shared our food with our friends. Lt was so funny at that time because by sharing the food with others, we were all thought that the dinner became more delicious.
After having dinner, we took some photos with friends and students in grade 12.Thank the Kelley for helping us took the photos and we finished our dinner in the end.
That was a very meaningful and interesting dinner l think!

Institude of sculpture art of nanjing

Today, we are going to the Nanjing University and having an exhibition. The title of this exhibition is called Institute of sculpture art of Nanjing University and Wu Weishan made all the sculpture products, he is a professor in Nanjing University. His products show us many famous people in the history and their characteristics and life about him. Some of his artworks are very traditional and some are very contemporary. I think I prefer his contemporary artworks because I love fashionable thing! Generally, I really love sculptures made by Mrs. Wu. His artworks were really great!
One of his sculptures I most like is Lao Zi. It was made in 2002. When Wu Weishan was 40 years old. I think this artwork was very special and it caught my eyes. The whole body of Lao Zi is gray and it all made of copper. It is about 4 meters high. The shape of this artwork is the image of a person. However, in the middle of this artwork is all empty and there are many words inside. If you enter inside, you will feel very quiet and fantastic.
Also, the lines of the Lao Zi are very clear and bold. It can show us the great image of Lao Zi. The main subject of the artwork is bear with everything. This is the traditional idea in China. I think this artwork was really like a big tree when I was first seen it. Because it is so tall and big! I also think Wu Weishan’s technology of sculpture was really wonderful and he sculptures the Lao Zi’eyes very vivid!
The artwork makes me feel very shocked because the artwork is very big. I think Lao Zi must be a great elder at that time. He has many achievements and they can affect our lives. It reminds me of an experience about Lao Zi. 600 years ago - about 470 years ago
, the competition of theories was very intense. Many people didn’t agree Lao Zi’s ideas and attacked him. But he never got angry and made reprisals. He still insisted his ideas. I think Mrs. Wu made this product in order to tell us bear with everything and insist on our dreams.
Well, l really likes this artwork because each part of the body is very fine. It also can make us know the ideas of Lao Zi easily. The Mrs. Wu’s skills are very excellent. The whole body of Lao Zi is so tall and big and very catchy. From this artwork, we can know the image and characteristic of Lao Zi. He was a great and broad-minded person. Inside the artwork, we can see that Mrs. Wu has a very good handwriting. When I was inside, it makes me felt really quietly and l took a lot of photos to Lao Zi.
I think l will never this artwork about Lao Zi. Not only the shape of this artwork and also l think l agree the ideas of Lao Zi!
